Byredo continues to explore the boundaries of scent and design with the launch of Infra Luna 2.0, its second collaborative lamp developed with French designer Benoit Lalloz. Building on the success of the original release, the new edition refines the concept of a scent diffuser that operates without a flame. Instead, the lamp uses targeted heat to disperse fragrance from Byredo’s signature candles, offering a quieter, more ambient ritual.
Taking inspiration from the insect world and transposing it into bold industrial design, experience, form and function intersect with the INFRA LUNA 2.0 desk lamp, Originally specialised in architectural projects, Lalloz has expanded his scope, now producing his own objects that reflect a personal quest for design that melds the innovative with craftsmanship and the industrial with poetic narration.
In a hybrid project combining scent and sculptural light design, the surprise is visual but also olfactory. Playing with temperature to release the scent of the candle placed underneath - the heat from the lamp’s halogen bulb melts the candle wax - has a spirit that is part lab, part installation. Creating a gentle halo of light and an additional halo of scent, the INFRA LUNA 2.0 is as inventive as it is intriguing.
Like its predecessor, Infra Luna 2.0 features a halogen bulb suspended above a base that cradles the brand’s smoked black glass votives. This design allows the candle’s fragrance to be released through heat alone, bypassing combustion entirely.
