For the past 20 years, using skillful artistry, Amalgam Collection has been making models that are indistinguishable from real cars in photographs. This one is a replica of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL, which was first showcased at the 1954 New York Auto Show and is distinguished by its gull wing doors. Acquiring a top speed of 135mph and accelerating from 0 - 60mph in roughly 8.8 seconds, it was the fastest in production at the time. This handcrafted version has been inspected by expert engineers and design teams to ensure accuracy.
This fine 1:18 scale model of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of Mercedes regarding original finishes, materials, archive imagery and drawings. The use of supremely accurate digital scanning of the original car has allowed us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
